Isola Serena is located in Castellina in Chianti, a town in the province of Siena and in the Italian region of Tuscany. It also lies in the heart of the famous Chianti Classico wine region and is surrounded by many popular vineyards. The villa is a 5 mins drive to town, and is 50km from Florence, 20km from Siena, and 250km from Rome. A car is considered essential in the Tuscan countryside to get to nearby towns and cities.

Directions

You will need to rent a car to get to the villa, and there will be plenty of parking accommodations on the premises! Note that many European car agencies have a very limited number of automatic cars, so we advise booking early.

Additional Details

• Bring bug spray, repellent, etc.
• General amenities will be provided, such as shampoo, shower gel, soap, and hairdryers.
• Towels, pillows, and bed sheets are provided.
• Bring European adapters and make sure your electronics are rated for 240 volts (other types of devices will blow a fuse).
• Water from the tap is drinkable and the villa has recently installed a brand new water filtration system.
• Cleaners will do a full clean of the villa prior to your arrival, a mid-week touch up clean on Wednesday where they clean the bathrooms and main areas only and refresh the towels, and a full clean upon departure.

We're so grateful to all of you who have expressed excitement about joining us in Italy to celebrate our marriage. As this is a very intimate occasion, we are kindly asking for firm RSVP's at this time, so we can manage headcount and make sure to assign bedrooms accordingly. Please note that, unfortunately, we won't be able to accommodate any babies or children at the villa.

Kindly RSVP by July 30th and let us know what days you plan on joining us, as well as any additional information we may need to know.

There is no set itinerary! This cele-moon is all about relaxing and spending time together in the backdrop of beautiful Tuscany. We will plan a formal dinner to celebrate, but everything in between will be left to your discretion! We are probably going to plan some day trips out and about to explore, which you are more than welcome to join or skip if you want to lounge by the pool instead! We will keep all of you in the loop as we continue to plan.

Food & Drink

The main house and guest house have fully functional kitchens, so you can cook or prep whatever your heart desires. There are plenty of local grocers around the village to buy fresh food from. We will also likely want to eat out here and there, so expect a mix of both options to be available.

Aside from the "formal dinner," we'll leave everyone to buy their own groceries and prepare them as they please, although you're very welcome to join us on any grocery runs or meals outside of the villa. We can always coordinate together the closer we get!

What to Wear

Treat this celebration as your own vacation, wear what would make you feel comfortable and stylish! The average weather in Tuscany in May is around 73°F with lows of 54°F. We ask that you bring one formal set of clothing for our celebratory dinner and the rest is up to you. Patricia remains available for outfit checks and chats.
